Great Falls woman pleads guilty to years long fraud scheme

GREAT FALLS – A Great Falls woman has admitted she extorted hundreds of thousands of dollars from a construction company when she was employed as its bookkeeper. Nicole Ann Lopez pleaded guilty Monday [March 14] to wire fraud. Prosecutors alleged that between 2017 and 2020, the 37 year old stole more than $600,000 from the company for personal shopping sprees, travel, plastic surgery, and she bought a small business and resigned, which is when her fraud scheme was uncovered. Lopez faces up to 20 years in prison when she is sentenced on June 9.
