Sentencing set today for man charged with killing Broadwater County Deputy

TOWNSEND – The family of Broadwater County Deputy Mason Moore, fatally shot in a 2017 police chase, are expected to give remarks at the sentencing Friday [April 22] of Lloyd Barrus, who was convicted last year for the murder. A jury found Barrus guilty of deliberate homicide and two counts of attempted deliberate homicide in connection to the incident in which Moore was killed while he was attempting to stop Barrus and his son Marshall near Three Forks on Highway 287. He faces the possibility of three life sentences.
