UPDATE – A Helena man was quickly arrested after alleged threats were made regarding a shooting. Helena Police got a tip from someone saying the suspect had access to weapons and was showing off possible explosive devices, and law enforcement set up at the individual’s address on S. Ewing St., near the Tower Hill Apartments before dawn this morning [5/31], where the 23-year-old was then taken into custody. The investigation is continuing and more charges are pending.
MEANWHILE…
Helena and East Helena schools leaders say they had response protocols in place Tuesday morning after the reported potential threat. HPS leaders said district schools did not go on lockdown. East Helena Public Schools leaders said their schools were temporarily on “secure status” Tuesday morning because of the situation.
