JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) – Millions of US households could see some tax relief, including in Montana
With a surplus of federal pandemic aid and their own surging tax revenue, at least 32 states have already enacted some type of tax cut or rebate this year, and Montana lawmakers also are weighing whether to convene a special session later in September to provide tax breaks from a budget surplus. A proposal calls for giving $1,000 rebates to homeowners who paid property taxes during the past two years. It also would provide income tax rebates.
