Yellowstone National Park nearing deadline to reopen flood-ravaged northern roads

COOKE CITY – Yellowstone National Park has fewer than 20 days to meet its own October 15th deadline for reopening flood-ravaged northern roads. Park officials said meeting the date is not impossible, but they’ll continue to do work after the fifteenth, to make sure it’s safe. An old one-lane road, dating to 1879, is being reworked to become a modern two-lane paved highway in a multi million dollar project that could normally take years to complete.
