Montana DPHHS working to make sure those in need have child care

HELENA – The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services is working to make sure millions of dollars in child care funding is getting to the areas with the greatest need. The move comes after an audit found that many parents across the state are having trouble enrolling their children, in part because of rising child care costs, and often because of a lack of openings. DPHHS told lawmakers the department will work to implement all of the auditors’ recommendations in the coming months to determine how best to distribute funds.
