Montanans will vote on LR-131, the Born-Alive Infants Measure in Nov. 8 elections

In addition to choosing between the many candidates running for public office, Montanans will vote on LR-131, the Born-Alive Infants Measure. While proponents of the legislation say it will hold doctors accountable and save lives, medical professionals said the bill would constrain parents of terminally ill infants care choices. Healthcare providers who do not perform lifesaving measures on any born-alive infant, even if there is zero chance of survival face up to $50,000 in fines and/or imprisonment of up to 20 years.
