One Butte resident is being praised for helping lead police to one of the largest federal drug busts

BUTTE — See Something Say Something is a familiar police plea and one Butte resident is now being praised for doing just that. The concerned citizen called police when he suspected drug activity at a residence in his Butte neighborhood, resulting in 22 convictions of Butte drug dealers with ties to the Mexican Cartel. Officials call it one of the largest federal drug trafficking probes that brought more than 2,000 pounds of meth and 722,000 fentanyl-laced pills from Mexico to Butte. Sheriff Ed Lester said this case proves that tips are valuable to police work. Agents said this case remains active and more charges could be pending.
