A Lame Deer pastor is facing child sexual abuse allegations. Dean Alan Smith, 66, appeared on a summons for arraignment Tuesday stemming from an indictment, filed on Dec. 9, acussing Smith of raping multiple young girls on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation, between 2017 and 2020, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office, which prosecuted the case, that investigated by the FBI. If convicted of the most serious crime, Pastor Smith faces a maximum of life in prison.
