Vandalism at Billings church leaves Christmas nativity scene in shambles

BILLINGS – At St. Patrick Co-Cathedral in Billings, the Christmas nativity scene is typically left up until early February.
But this year the church’s outdoor nativity scene was destroyed. “The wise men were all decapitated, the animals were strewn all over, and Mary, Jesus, and Joseph were missing,” Father Leo McDowell said. Police said they are investigating the incident, as well as a break in at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church on the Billings South Side. Authorities have not yet determined if the crimes are connected to the same perpatrator.
