WHITEFISH – Skiers at Whitefish Mountain Resort had to be rescued Wed. [Feb. 1], due to a malfunctioning ski lift. According to a social media post, Chair 4 had to be stopped after a mechanical issue, and riders were evacuated by rope and everyone was safely removed within about an hour or so, the post reads. Multiple other chairs were also stopped so that staff could assist with the evacuation. This is the second time mechanical issues have forced people to be evacuated, following an incident right after Christmas last year [Dec. 28, 2022] that left riders stranded.
