Surprise shooting injures suspects in attempted robbery in Billings

BILLINGS – Two Billings men got quite a surprise after they were shot by a woman they allegedly tried to rob. Billings police said Monday the 25-year-old woman shot the suspects, in an apparent case of self-defense, after they attacked her outside of her residence Saturday in an alley on Cook Avenue, in what authorities described as a “possible robbery.” The case will be reviewed by the County Attorney’s Office and they could file criminal charges against the victim if they deemed the threat didn’t meet the level of force used. Neither of the men were armed. Both survived the shooting, and the case was sent to the County Attorney’s Office for review and official charges, police said.
