Billings seeing rise in crimes linked to Mexican drug cartels

Billings is seeing a rise in the influence of Mexican drug cartels. The largest city in Big Sky Country, just northeast of Yellowstone National Park, seized twice as much fentanyl in 2022 than they did in the previous four years combined, and Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen said he thinks the rise in crime can be traced back to Mexican drug cartels. He said an undercover investigation exposed a multimillion-dollar drug trafficking network in Butte, resulting in the arrest of 22 people, three of whom were linked to the Cartel
