Former Butte Rescue Mission Director settles false arrest cas in Jefferson County

Former Butte Rescue Mission Director Rocky Lyons has won a cash settlement for a false arrest in Jefferson County, bringing three years of litigation to an end. The county admitted that a dispatcher negligently told a deputy a theft warrant for Lyons was valid when it was not, and she was arrested at her home in Whitehall in 2021. A federal jury in Butte awarded Lyons $12,500 in damages. Her attorneys have not decided whether to appeal for money.
