Gunfire rings out in usually quiet Helena neighborhood

Residents in a usually quiet Helena neighborhood were awakened when gunfire rang out early Friday morning next to Helena Middle School. Police said officers quickly apprehended two intoxicated teens around 4am Friday in the Billings Avenue area, where about 40 rounds were fired from a reportedly stolen AR-15. Five houses were left riddled with bullets. Fortunately there were no injuries reported. This was a random act by the 17 and 15 year old suspects, the Lewis and Clark County Attorney’s Office said Wednesday, adding they are still reviewing the incident.
