Fortunately, no one was injured when fire destroyed a detached garage with a living unit on the city’s westside near Fort Harrison. The Helena Fire Department said in an update Wednesday that multiple crews responded to 1512 Summit St., and found the garage engulfed in flames which threatened a nearby residence. The neighboring home was saved but sustained some minor smoke and fire damage, the release states. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
