Bear attack in Yellowstone National Park injures hiker

HELENA, Mont. – A hiker was attacked by a bear in Yellowstone National Park Friday morning. Officials say the incident marks the first time a person was injured by a bear inside the park this year. A bear fatally attacked a man just outside the park in April. The 39-year-old man injured Friday was hiking alone on a trail near Mammoth Hot Springs. Yellowstone officials urged visitors to stay 100 yards away from bears, carry bear spray, and hike in groups.
