Speeding and alcohol deemed factors in pedestrian hit and run near Lewistown

GREAT FALLS – Speeding and alcohol, police say, were factors in a hit and run northwest of Lewistown over the weekend in which a pedestrian was killed. The Montana Highway Patrol said Sunday that the 23 year old died after the driver of a pickup truck lost control and swerved into the victim early Saturday morning while they were walking along Wolverine Creek Road near Joyland Road. The MHP report says “the vehicle and occupants fled the scene.” The investigation is ongoing.
